Workspaces, folders, and canvases

Organize Git projects into workspaces and virtual folders in the navigator.

Updated 1 min read

A workspace groups canvases, with optional folders to organize them. Each canvas represents one Git repository.

Organize projects in the navigator

  1. Open the navigator with the handle on the left edge of the canvas.
  2. Open the navigator menu and choose New workspace to create a workspace.
  3. Open a workspace row menu and choose New folder. To nest a folder, use a folder row menu and choose New child folder.
  4. Choose Add project… from the navigator or a workspace or folder menu to add a repository to that location.
  5. Use the row menus to rename or move items. A canvas can be moved to another folder in its workspace or to Move to workspace root.
TipUse folders to group related canvases without changing your project directories.
LimitA canvas must point to an existing folder with a .git directory, and the same repository cannot be added twice. Folders are virtual; they do not create directories on disk.
The navigator groups workspaces, folders, canvases, and layers.
