Orchestration & the mao CLI

Read and update a connected note

Grant one terminal access to a note and use the bridge to read or append content.

Updated 1 min read

A terminal-to-note connection lets that terminal list, read, and append to the selected note. MAO handles the note’s storage path behind the scenes.

Connected note and terminal, with one reader shown on the note
The terminal-to-note edge grants this terminal access to the note.

Grant note access

  1. Connect the terminal to the note on the canvas.
  2. Run mao note list in the connected terminal.
  3. Use mao note read <note> to read it or mao note append <note> <content> to add text.
  4. Check the note node to see the appended content.
NoteAppends are atomic, and open note views reconcile them with their current text.
LimitAccess is limited to notes explicitly connected to that terminal. Note text and an individual append are limited to 1 MiB; storage paths are not exposed.
