# Resume or recover an agent session

Resume a supported provider session or choose how to recover after a quick resume failure.

MAO keeps provider session identity separate from the local terminal process. Supported providers can resume a recorded session when you reopen or restart its agent node.

## Recover a session

1. Reuse the existing agent node to resume its recorded session.
2. If resume fails shortly after launch, choose **Start fresh**, **Resume by ID**, or **Pick a session** when the provider offers a picker.
3. Copy the session ID from the node menu or agent sheet if you need to keep it.

> **Limit:** Claude Code, Grok, and Codex have session ID capture paths. OpenCode and Antigravity do not yet. Provider transcripts and authentication stay outside workspace JSON.
