# View an iOS Simulator portal

Add an existing macOS iOS Simulator to the canvas and connect an agent to it.

An iOS Simulator portal connects an existing simulator to the canvas. You can view and drive it from the portal or give a connected agent access.

## Add a simulator

1. On macOS, choose **New device portal** and place it on the canvas.
2. Select an available iOS Simulator in the setup sheet.
3. Connect an agent terminal if it needs to inspect or control the simulator.
4. Use the portal controls or `mao portal` device commands to interact with the simulator.

> **Limit:** This feature is macOS-only. Create and delete simulator devices in Xcode; MAO lists existing simulators. The portal streams only while its view is painted.
