# Place labels and text blocks

Add a short label or editable text block to explain part of the canvas.

Labels and text blocks annotate the canvas without changing node behavior. Place one near the work it describes and edit its text when needed.

## Add a label or text block

1. Choose **Label** or **Text** from **Draw and more**.
2. Or press <kbd>L</kbd> for Label or <kbd>T</kbd> for Text when the canvas has focus.
3. Place the object on the canvas.
4. Select it and press <kbd>Enter</kbd> to edit its text.

> **Limit:** Text content is limited to 32 KiB. Labels and text drawings cannot connect to agents.
