# Sketch with Pen

Draw a freehand stroke directly on the canvas.

Use Pen to add a freehand annotation to the canvas. Each stroke stays a drawing object and cannot connect to an agent or note.

## Draw a stroke

1. Choose **Pen** under **Draw and more**, or press <kbd>P</kbd> with the canvas focused.
2. Drag across the canvas to sketch.
3. Press <kbd>Escape</kbd> to return to the Select tool.

> **Limit:** A stroke is limited to 2,048 points and is not a connection endpoint.
