# Review and stage a file diff

Inspect an edited file’s Git diff and stage or unstage it from the editor.

A project file editor can show the Git changes for its file. Stage or unstage the file after reviewing the displayed diff.

## Review a file

1. Open a file in the project file editor.
2. Choose its Git status chip to show the diff.
3. Review the staged and unstaged changes.
4. Choose **Stage** or **Unstage** as needed.

> **Note:** MAO saves the latest editor content before staging the file.

> **Limit:** The diff is limited to 512 KiB and 2,000 displayed lines. Untracked files show their status without a generated diff.
