# Manage agents as an Orchestrator

Recruit an agent, connect it to context, notify the person, or dismiss it.

An Orchestrator can manage connected agents through MAO’s bridge commands. Its access is controlled separately from a regular agent terminal.

## Run an Orchestrator action

1. Recruit an agent with `mao recruit <name> --preset <preset> --role <role>`.
2. Use `mao connect <from> <to>` to give it needed peer or note access.
3. Use `mao notify <message>` to notify the person, or `mao dismiss <agent>` to dismiss an agent.
4. To let agents send notifications, enable **Allow agents to notify you** in Settings.

> **Limit:** Orchestrator commands require the Orchestrator permission. Notifications are off by default and unavailable on Windows. Remote-canvas and directory recruitment are not included.
