# Tidy up nodes

Arrange a selection or the whole canvas into a more orderly layout.

Tidy up arranges selected nodes, or the whole canvas when nothing is selected. It keeps groups together while laying out the frames.

## Tidy a layout

1. Select at least two nodes if you want to arrange only part of the canvas.
2. Open the command palette and choose **Tidy up**.
3. Review the layout. Use Undo if you want to return to the previous arrangement.

> **Limit:** A request with exactly one selected node is refused. Locked nodes do not move; drawings are left out unless selected. One tidy action creates one undo step.
