# Save and revisit canvas views

Save named viewport positions and return to them with a shortcut or palette action.

Saved views remember where the camera is pointed on a canvas. They do not save or rearrange the nodes themselves.

## Save and revisit a view

1. With the canvas focused, press <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> + <kbd>Alt</kbd> + a number from <kbd>1</kbd> to <kbd>9</kbd> on Windows or Linux. On macOS, use <kbd>Cmd</kbd> + <kbd>Option</kbd> and the number.
2. Return to a saved view with <kbd>Alt</kbd> + a number on Windows or Linux, or <kbd>Option</kbd> + a number on macOS.
3. To manage views by name, open the command palette and choose **Save view…**, **Go to view: name**, or **Delete view: name**.

> **Limit:** Each canvas has nine saved view slots. A view saves the camera position; a saved arrangement stores nodes and connections.
