# Follow connected context

Emphasize a connected group and recede unrelated nodes while you inspect it.

Connection focus keeps connected neighbors prominent while unrelated nodes recede. It changes the view temporarily and does not change the connection graph.

## Focus a connected group

1. Select a node that has connections.
2. Press <kbd>Alt</kbd> on Windows or Linux, or <kbd>Option</kbd> on macOS, to emphasize its connected group.
3. Press the same key again to narrow the emphasis back to the selected node.

> **Limit:** Connection focus is a temporary visual mode. It does not create a connection or save a preference.
